Bettembos history?
« on: Tuesday 24 August 10 00:19 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find the history or origins of the town of Bettembos (80590) Somme or the name Bettembos.

As I have an ancestor Isaac De Bettembos abt.1635 who I presume by the name Isaac of Bettembos was from the town.

I have found loads on the area size and population etc. but nothing of the actual history.

any help is greatly appreciated

many thanks

Bettembo is a small village, and I searching Betembos - found nothing there, that was in August this year, however, just up the road to the next village -Vraignes les Hornoy
you have a graveyard with many Bettembos, it appears that the Huguenots were mainly around here, though went to Oismont to baptise their children. I also have a
Isaac Bettembo who married Marthe Leroy, came over to U.K. about 1674 I am told.
