yes, very much like!  ;) ;D That's why we enjoy it so much...except we are paid in thankyous!
Now if the letter was from a Claxton for absolute possitive then it's a Bill Claxton...but if not sure of sender, might still be a husband pf Williammina's! Will look on directory for Claxton if can find that year and will post if I find, right on this same reply...stay posted, so to speak

Claxtons - no Wm However it is owners listed, not tennants if renting...

No surname on it - posted to Miss J Matthews and found in her bible.  She married Joseph Claxton - and they moved to near Stradbally, Co Waterford.  Often talked of 'William?' moving to Canada.

Many thanks, ;)

Well if there is a Wm Claxton in Toronto, There are none working there in 1912, in case you missed it, above. You can be your own detective...he should show up in one of these:

:o :o :-[ :-[You are obviously a better detective than me!!!  Can't believe that we have been looking for the wrong person!! Thank so much for putting me on the right track.

Have been looking at the previous link that you sent - fascinating!

Have just been given a contact with Claxtons that ended up in Vancouver - so might still  find a Claxton - will post anything that I find.

Good night from a very sleepy Dansihdots

Well, finding things is only part of the search....proving it proves more difficult. What were Jenny Matthew's parent's names? Did she have a brother Wm...etc.

hope the following information helps rather than confuses. I went to a site I haven't used for awhile and can up with quite a bit of information, some of which you may already have.
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start

British Columbia Death Records
William George Claxton, b. 27 July 1885, d. 10 Nov. 1960
Spouse: Margaret Emily Collins
Parents: William Claxton
               Anna Seel
I decided to do an advanced search using only the surname, entered the parents names, William Claxton and Ann Seale to see what would come up and 2 pages with 26 matches popped up. The following are brief info on the matches.

British columbia Death Registration
John Claxton, b. 6 august 1972, d. 17 Sept 1948
Spouse: Jane McReeny
Father: William Claxton
Mother: Anne Seale
