MCKIE/MCKEE LEAVING FOR IRELAND 1690
« on: Friday 20 August 10 20:16 BST (UK) »
Apparantly a HUGH MCKIE/MCKEE joined the Army of KING WILLIAM III 1690 and left Scotland for IRELAND. and after the Battle of the Boyne stayed in IRELAND SAINTFIELD/NEWTOWNARDS. JAMES/WILLIAM/ALEXANDER/JAMES SETTLED IN CO. DOWN AND WERE ULSTER COVENTERS. I can trace family back to Saintfield, and he came over with HAMILTON/MONTGOMERY, farmers, and ORANGEMEN, and CHURCH of SCOTLAND, UNITED FREE.

ANY OTHER MCKIE'S IN THAT AREA KNOW OF FAMILY STORIES OF FAMILY LEAVING FOR ULSTER, IRELAND 1690.
