The directories are not made the year they are publishedbut maybe the year befor.
I struggle to find them in the 1901 directory or one the 1901 census, but sure ome one will locate them for you  as my access has been playing up of late.

My 2nd great grandfather is also James hamer born in 1851 married to a Mary jane hamer. And through the family line are the Davies and heslop lines . To which l am related.
