Adoption Records
« on: Thursday 19 August 10 15:17 BST (UK) »
Hi to all,
My mother has recently found out she has a sister who was adopted as a baby. All she knows is that her name at birth was Susan Parsons, born in Redditch, Worcestershire sometime in the 1940's. I havent a clue how or where to start searching for adoptive descendants. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Steve

Hi

At the top of the beginners board is a guide to civil registration and censuses

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,428062.0.html

Right at the start of the guide it gives three links for helping with tracing adoptions

First two

Federation of Family History Socieities Research Tips for researching adopted persons in England and Wales:  http://tinyurl.com/nu5wxy
