Hi Tony
You haven't updated your profile so we don't know where in the world you are, so I'm finding it hard to know whether you have access to GRO birth, marriage & death fiche. They can be found in London (3 different locations), Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth & Bridgend
More details here
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/Registeringlifeevents/Familyhistoryandresearch/DG_175464I had a look at the GRO regimental index 1761-1924 and there are 2 entries for George Lowe, at Fyzabad in 1877 vol 1261 pg 20 and also vol 1262 pg 29.
The fathers of these entries was recorded as being in the 25th Regiment.
These could be the same child or 2 different Georges. The GRO fiche are just an index with the bare essentials of information.
To find out whether this is your George, you'll need to buy the certificates.
You could also visit the British India collection at the British Library at St Pancras, you'll need a readers ticket. His baptism may be recorded in their records.
Hope this helps.
Dawn
