James and Ann Pri(t)chard Llantillio Crossenny

I need some help with firstly the maiden name of Ann Pritchard and some advice as to how to go back to the next generation.

They had a daughetr Mary Anne who was christened in Llantillio Crossenny (hope I have spelt that right!!)
23/3/1823

Her son James Prichard was also crhistened there 23-05-1847

I have tried Free Reg and Family search (which is wher I found Mary's christening and hence their names) but have now come to a complete standstill. I can find no record of their marriage or a definate ID of his birth.

Any help gratefully accepted

There is a likely marriage for your James & Ann in 1821.

I should think that Marie Ann was christened by my great great great grandfather as he was the curate of Llantillio Crossenny at the time.  The Church is worth a visit; a beautiful part of Monmouthshire.

Thank you for your message. I have planned another trip down to Merthyr in February (which is where the family all ended up) and we are planning to go that way round on the way down to have a look at Llantillio Crossenny. I have seen a picture and it does indeed look beautiful.

Thanks Lizzie.  Enjoy your trip to Llantillio Crossenny.  In case you need to know, there is no pub in the village now (for lunch) but I can recommend one (can't remember the name!) on the Monmouth road going east from Llantillio, on the left after about 1 - 1.5 miles.  My family were also in the Merthyr area, including Aberdare, also Brecon and Newport.
