Looking to trace the FURNESS clan - mainly seem to around the Darlington/Durham areas although we believe moved from Crosby Ravensworth.
Our current brick wall, is as follows
John FURNESS c 1732 married Ann Shutt 1761 at St Cuthberts Darlington (we have all their children)
on the Joiners marriage index, John is listed as being from Aycliffe - but so far we CANNOT find his birth/baptism. On the IGI pilot search the only John Furness in 1732 in that sort of area was born in Gateshead - is this the same one? can anyone find our John? we are trying to get back from John and believe his father was also John (england naming pattern) which ties in with the Gateshead one (if it helps the Gateshead record on IGI pilot is spelt Furnice)
