Leng-Burial-Leeds

I'm trying to find the death/burial in Leeds of John Leng born abt 1771.  He was alive for the marriage of his sons at Leeds Parish church in 1837 and 1840 but I can't find him on the 1841 census (so I'm presuming he died between '40 and '41)  His wife (widow?) was living in Rotherham with her eldest son in 1841.
Two of his sons John (1809) and Robert (1817) with his wife Mary Ann (1819) and daughter Hannah (1841) are also missing from the '41 census, though John's wife and 2 children are living in Rotherham.  All the sons can be accounted for by 1851.
Any information would be appreciated

John Leng / 31 / Baker / born in County
Robert Leng / 22 / born in County
Maria Leng / age 36 / born in County
Sarah Waltham / 37 / female servant / born in County
Charles Jakeman / 16 / apprentice / born in County.

Don't forget, that in the 1841 census, ages of adults ,were rounded up/down by 5 years.
I will have a look for John's death

That's not my family I'm sorry to say.  Those Lengs were from Wilberfoss and started a biscuit empire in Fulford but thanks anyway

Have a look at and place your question on www.yorkshireindexers.co.uk where I think they will be able to answer your question. They have records of Leeds churches and graveyards.

Just found the burial of Mary Ann Leng at Woodhouse (St Mark's) Leeds.
22nd March 1920 aged 86.

I don't doubt your goodness Brian  but unfortunately my Mary Ann Leng is accounted for, dying in Rotherham in 1883. Good to keep you on your toes tho..hehehehe
If it helps, they all died in Rotherham...apart from John Leng senior, who is driving me crazy!

Can't fault a man for rising to a challenge....
I'm sorry I have no idea where he was living in Leeds just that both sons were wed in Leeds Parish Church.  Prior to this the family were living in York and I have no idea when they moved to Leeds or how long they lived there (I do know they had gone by 1843)
Charlotte Severs (the wife of William) was also born in York, which begs the question did her family move to Leeds also?
Mary Ann Wood, the wife of Robert Leng, was born in Leeds (c.1819), daughter of Thomas.  I'm awaiting the marriage certificate of Robert and Mary Ann to get the occupation of her father and whether he was still alive in 1840.
I don't know whether there are any trade directories that might list the family.  John (snr) was a shoemaker or cordwainer and all the sons were engineers
