.............One register said David Morris who married Anne Morgans was a bachelor and the other register said he was a widower.  I am inclined to think that he was a widower but do not know this for sure.

There was never two registers for one year so one document at least you have consulted is not a register.

I can confirm beyond any doubt that the parish registers of St Issells show that David Morris was a widower in 1813 at his mrge to Anne Morgans so there is no "inclined" about it.

I have personally seen the microfilms of the registers.  And in one marriage register it says one thing.  Then in the new register where the entries are numbered the entry is repeated.  I have never seen this before where an entry in the old register is repeated in the new.  I have photocopies of both entries.  One has to be right and one wrong.  Lorraine

Hello Lynne,
I'm Kellie from Melbourne and I am also descended from the Morris's you have researched (Richard Morris & Elizabeth Hilling), and their son Richard morris who married Ann Allen, and their son Lewis Morrris who married Elizabeth James. I have some Rees in there too.

I have Richard Morris (1797 - 1851 Collier from St Issells) father, named Thomas Morris born 1770.

I mat have more than this as my grandmother (a Morris) did extensive research, but off the top of my head, this is what I know.

I would be interested in sharing any research we have done.
Would love to hear from you!
Kellie

I am interested in James Morris who was baptised in St Issells in 1824 and a son of David Morris and his second wife Ann Morgans who were married in 1813 at St Issells.  I believe David was a son of David Morris of Narberth.  David was a collier.  James Morris arrived in Victoria in the mid 1850s after leaving Wales in the mid 1840s.  He had many children most of whom were never registered in the Vic BDMs.  His wife was buried in 1921 in Maryborough, Vic.  They lived mostly north of Amherst (nr Talbot).  It would be good if we could exchange information.  Can you send me your email address.
