It looks as if his son Daniel was among the WW2 casualties

Strangely, there are no Comries listed on the WW2 plaques on Stirling's Civic War Memorial. I would have thought as Daniel was buried in Ballengeich, he'd be listed on the 'local' memorial.

2 Comries in WW1 Stirling - George & Daniel.

(No Comries at all on either Denny & Dunipace Civic Memorial or Dunipace)

Hi Guys,

I've started a thread on the WW2 Board asking for some help, see:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=475739.new

Just in case anyone's confused - there is no mention of Daniel's TB being war/service related on his Death Certificate.

Anne

A very big thank you, lots of good research there. Especially to Gadget (I have James' clubs already thanks). Plenty to follow up on.

The reason for the interest is Frank Comrie Gordge, born in Huddersfield in Q3 1913.

I should be able to get further back down the Comrie line now, will post again if I get stuck

Thanks again to all

Hi Ian,

Sorry the thread has gone awry! Probably mostly my fault for following up on the WW2 Comrie.

Still, as long as we've helped you, that's all that matters really!  ;D

Hi Anne,

No, don't worry, it's good to know he had another son too. Though I'm not sure if anyone in Denny knew of Frank in Huddersfield. Its all related to George in some way, and is more than we knew a few days ago.

Thanks for helping
