« on: Monday 16 August 10 05:17 BST (UK) »
Can anyone direct me to a site that lists the many abbreviations used in WW2 records?

(eg, "X List", "P/A Capt", TOS, TOCU etc etc).

many thanks

Thanks very much, but what I'm trying to find out, is why my Dad's records show him as a P/A Capt, then a P/A Major....wondering what P/A meant? maybe it was Provisional/Acting as he was finally demobbed as his original rank of Lieutenant?

Any thoughts?
