Hi,
that's a bit general, people will need some actual names and dates to get started.
Also, you need to remove your email address. This is an open web page and you'll get a million spam emails in your inbox.

Thanks Leonie, I think admin allready removed my email.
Here's what I know,
my ggran, Mary Rooney B. 1861.
Married John Hand in 1881 app.
Their Daughter Elizebeth Hand B.1885. Ushers Quay. Dublin.
married James Goodwin in 1910.
Their Daughter (my mother) Julia Goodwin B. 1914. North King st. Dublin.

My other ggran was Mary Hart/Hartney.
She married Bernard Goodwin in 1873
they lived at Queen st. Children were Elizebeth,
James, Richard, Bernard, Patrick.
The men in this family all joined the British Army. I will try 2 send a photo of my gfather James Goodwin.
On grave papers John Hand lived at 31 Blackhall street. Dublin.
A Byrne family lived here in the 1911 census.
I also have a P.O. Book of Mary Byrne of 2 or 3 High st. Dublin.
My mother said 'The granny came from Garristown'.
At another time she said 'The granny came from Gormanstown.
And once she told me her grannys people were from Killrush.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

My mother (Julia Goodwin) allways said that her granny was related to the Harmons of Queen street, (aka Burkes funeral directors).
The Harmons are in the same house in Queen street in the 1901 census of Ire.
So I guess they were either related to the Goodwins or to Julia Hart/Hartney,
who was my ggranmother, she was married to Bernard Goodwin.

Interesting.   We are somehow related to the Haromons of Queen Street, though distantly.

Hi, other names in the family that I still haven't managed to tie are Smyth+Carlin. My mothers uncle, Patrick Goodwin, used to make his way up to Crumlin ( he was blind) to see his relatives- the Carlins or Carolins.
My mother+her brother mentioned Smyth also being related. I remember how they emphasised Smyth with a Y.
The trouble is I don't know which side of the family they came from.
My mothers mothers name was Hand+ her mothers name was Rooney but the evidence points to the Goodwin+Hart/Hartney side of the family.
Funnily enough, I found a Julia Goodwin from Mullhudart marrying another local undertaker-Flanagans of Aungier street.
