I think that both John and Harriet were illegitimate.

Could  this be her baptism but with the wrong birth date?

Not sure about this now as there is also a birth registered for a Harriet Keelan in 1898 Newton district of Manchester

Henrietta was baptized on December 12 1911 as a condition of her marriage to Thomas Hand. The baptism is on the Lancashire Online parish clerk website.
