Mallard and Leach and sparrow Grubb Duston and surrounding
« on: Friday 13 August 10 19:44 BST (UK) »
Having researched the mallard side and now traced over 90 descendents l seem to have got stuck with the leach side l can find my grandfather in 1911 and my great grandfather in the same year . Its seems he came from London and l get stuck before 1901 l Know he was born in 1881 . but between these years there seems to be a gap l  would love some help please to plug this gap if possible

Also l would love to work out whether James leach residing with the rance family in 1911 is related to james leach as the address's are close by and we have always assumed he had a brother

l now have a new one
Thomas mallard married 1853    he married either mary ann herne     or a mary ann billing (billington)
once again any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks to all concerned who have helped trace the mallard side which links into many other surnames griffiths, minor, hern, tresler, beal (so far)

Welcome to Rootschat!

Can you give some more details regarding names of your MALLARD family in Duston.  There are quite a few of them in that parish on the 1881 census - if you can confirm names, then I can try tracing them backwards/forwards.

I suggest you get a copy of his birth certificate, this will tell you his parents names, including his mother's maiden name.

Then I can probably connect them to the family tree.

Hi Phil.

Welcome from me also.  :)

I think one family to keep in mind is Robert Leach who married Annie Elizabeth Taylor in 1903.

The 1911 Census is free to view here http://www.1911census.co.uk/

In the 1928 directory they are living in Ruskin Road.
