I'd say that could have been the case as he was younger than her.

The desertion reference is from the Police Gazettes you have to purchase a copy of the actual file to get the 12 pages which includes the letter & photo.

I wonder who the lady was she left it all too... all the way over in WA?

Any clues with the names?

A photo would be interesting! The names of the witnesses are Fanny and Henry Beales from Perth WA. Fanny to get everything to sell and pay for funeral expenses and the upkeep of same plus it looks like £15 but I don't think that's right. If she died before Harriet then Henry would get it all.  I have no idea who they are or whether they are any relation to her - it's a bit strange. I may see if I can get a copy of this desertion thing - just to have a look at the photo!

The photo would be of him as it's a police file on David & the file is held at PROV & would need to be retrieved from storage. I will send you the details of how to purchase the file BUT be warned it isn't CHEAP!

Fanny BEALES died in WA, can't see a marriage over there for her or a death for Henry.

Fanny's death:

BEALES FANNY d. 1928 PERTH #1318

Thanks for your mail re obtaining records. It does look rather expensive so may have to give it a miss. If there had been a photo of Harriet then I might have thought about it - at the end of the day I'm just being nosey-
typical woman! The fact that he deserted her says everything really. I wouldn't expect anyone to go there personally for me. I think you have done plenty enough to help me today so I thank you for that. You have found out more than I could ever have done - you are a star  ;D

Hi,
So Ladyt.
The picture as it stands is..
You believe the parents of HENRY/HARRY SHEPPERSON were SAMUEL & JANE SHEPPERSON.

I am guessing you have some evidence for this

You have seen GEORGE SHEPPERSON'S death with the parents SAMUEL & JANE and wonder if they are brothers.

You say you have evidence of a brother of HENRY/HARRY named GEORGE (Initial posting)

To this point, no connection between the two has been discovered >:(

The purchase of the certificate for the death of GEORGE in NSW (per reply #1) will give you a lot of information if the informant had the knowledge and may be the only way to confirm a relationship.

Sue

Ladyt,

Interesting, some directories have a H Shepperson as a bookseller and stationer in Queen St Brisbane between 1868-1874.

Also there were 3 Shepperson persons with miners rights for prospecting 1870-1874 at Ravenswood North Queensland.

Regards

Gerry
