that's a reference for 1871 not 1891 - is it the Pearsons you are looking at - yes that 's the family (I think  )

John is on 1891 with Fanny Bellhouse whom he later marries as Nurmal says.
I can't see any other sister so hopefully Nurmal will tell us where s/he 'seems to remember' her from.

sorry lizdb if I confused you - I know of Florence, her marriage and death in Paramatta 1944 via cotacts on Ancestry.  We have exchanged proof etc. and yes I have Kates original marriage certificate.
Thank you Heywood - finding an incorrect spelling has helped me.  Son Leonard was my oldest uncle andI knew him well.  Grandma Kate spoke of sisters not just sister when she got older and less guarded with her memories. I was 15 and she was 81 so she chatted to me often.  I do not know of another son to John born before his first marriage in 1872 to my g. gran.  I have copies of both his marriage certificates.  I also have his census in 1901 and 1911 - that's how I know about adopted Horace -
Florence is with John's parents Robert and Catherine in 1881.

Do you have Florence in 1891?

Yes I found Florence via he daughter when I contacted them via Ancestry site.  Florence married aged 18 - had several children , lived in Holbeck and then went to Australia -.  There is no sign of any other sister in her daughters memory - but her daughter didn't know about her Leeds sister Kate or young brother William until I told her.  We know they were sisters because they both have the same parents on their birth certificates.  The main problem is my grandmother talking about sisters and not just sister.  When I have solved that I will go on to the half sibling? and adopted half brother.  Sorry about my complicated family.  All this was hidden from me as a child and I now aged 66 feel I need to pass all this on to my own children.

So far we have found no evidence of another sister.
When did Kate talk of sisters? Could she have included sister in laws? (I know my sis in law has referred to me a sister at times)
Perhaps if she was referring to wife of William or Horace she may have called them sisters.

Kate did not have any sister in laws to my knowledge.  Her younger brother William married I think in 1904 (yet another route for me to go down eventually)  Maybe that is the answer.  Thank you, I will look at those links.  I am however intrigued by the fact that you may have discovered a brother born to her parents John Pearson and Elizaboth Charlotte Everad in 1871 before their marriage in 1872.  Another story for me to follow.  Thanks again.

I thought you found him?.  You gave me the reference a few days ago in this search on Saturday 14th August.  I have not looked further yet to check up the info.
