Hi,
I assume that the birth was 1846. There was a Ellen Taggart whose father was John and she married Joseph Reid in Connor Presbyterian Church on 13 Nov 1866. However I cannot say that she was yours.

Hi

Kingskerswell you just beat me to it. Gallabagh is not far from Kells and Connor so it is a high possibility that's her.

the birth is from an igi record and i am hoping that this is the correct one as i have not yet verified that the parents are from my tree , my gg grandfather is William Taggart born In Co Antrim Ireland then moved to Cambusnethan Scotland, John Taggart appears to be his father as far as i can make out, i have not had the time recently to go to Ireland to verify. The dates on Williams Headstone match up with the igi record and therrefore i am assuming that this is correct. I know that William Married Jane Johnstone (Co Down) in Cambunethan  Scotland 13 Nov 1874 but have not got to the family history centre to verify marriage so as to get the parents from that.

Hi,
Civil registration of births did not start in Ireland until 1864. Before that you will have to depend on church records where these exist.

Evening

My Great Great Grandfather is also William Taggart, married to Jane Taggart (nee Johnstone), married 13th November 1874, Cambusnethan. I have verified that his parents were John Taggart (Farm Labourer) & Agnes Christie, who were both deceased in 1874 when William & Jane married. William died 18th February 1919, Bellshill & Jane died 20th November 1915, Bellshill.

William Taggart's Daughter, Isabella Taggart, born 24th November 1878, Cambusnethen is my Great Grandmother.

Who is your link to William Taggart???

Hello William, and any Taggart who's family hailed from around Kells, Conor, Donegore, all in Co. Antrim.  I have quite a full Taggart family tree  available to anyone who would like to contact me if they think they might be connected. I have a William Taggart, born 3rd Sept 1820 in Tobergill. Co. Antrim and my tree go's back as far as an Andrew Randal Taggart, Tamneybreak. Co. Antrim. married to a Mary Shannon circa 1800.  You can reach me at (*) anytime please. I do not do genealogy any more but if anyone does find a connection I would be grateful if they could contact me back when they read my tree. Thanks. Val.
