Not sure whether you have thought of the death of Jane Jones age 37 in 1879 Mar Quarter at Chester? This district would have included Hope at this time (1871-1902)

Good find but Spaniel has said on one of the other threads that he/she had visited Hope and checked the local records and burial ground(s)

Trying to approach the problem from various angles 

If Edward didn't remarry (I've not checked), do you know when he died and where?  If so, checking up on where he was buried might be a way forward.

A few of my cousins and I and two records offices have been trying to trace the death of a 3 x great grandmother between 1841 and 1851 but so far and 6 years of searching has come up with zilch

Just been doing some more checks.

The North Wales BMD has the following two deaths of a Jane Jones in Holt in the period - Local refs given

1878  - HOLT/10/15  (maybe aged 56 from GRO index  )
1879 -  HOLT/10/39


No ages recorded.
