Jane Jones (nee Nicholas) b. 1842 Ruabon
« on: Thursday 12 August 10 23:30 BST (UK) »
This is my first posting..........please be patient!!!!

I am looking for the Nicholas family from Ruabon c. 1860, particularly JANE NICHOLAS b.1842, Ruabon, D/O John Nicholas, a collier. She married EDWARD JONES of Caergwrle at Hope Parich Church 25 Aug, 1860. They had 5 children; Mary b. 1862, John b.1865, David b. 1868, Margaret b.1871 and Sarah Jane b. 1872. Mary & John were born in Cergwrle, David & Margaret were born in Stoke-on-Trent, and Sarah Jane in Ashton in Makerfield. They then returned to live in Caergwrle and I believe that sometime between Sarah Jane's birth in 1872 and the 1881 census Jane died. This is my problem - I can't find her death.....can anyone help please?!
Many Thanks

Hi Spaniel

Have you looked for a death of Sarah Jones in Ashton in Makerfield?   Perhaps she died in childbirth or shortly thereafter?

Hi Spaniel, Heather and others   :)

A little work has already been done on this one here:

I did have a look for a death in the A/M but couldn't find anything.  I've also PMed Paul to see if he might find a burial.

Hello

I looked at Wrexham Council search for the death because this gives the specific local registration district, but there aren't any on here for Hope in the relevant period.

http://www.wrexham.gov.uk/english/community/genealogy/deaths_search/DeathsIndexSearchForm.cfm

Freebmd has the death of a Jane Jones in 1877 (Sep Q) age 35, which would fit a birth in 1842.

Hi Morgan,

Thanks for the info............

However, I found out yesterday that this isn't her............ there are also 2 more Apr/May/Jun 1876 and Jul/Aug/Sept 1879 that aren't her either......

The search goes on!!

Thanks again
