Gibbinson MARRIAGE SEARCH PLEASE HELP

I am researching John Gibbinson who was born in Embleton in about 1818.  His father was Thomas Gibbinson.  John married Agnes Laidlaw but I cannot find their marriage anywhere.
Can anybody help please.

I have only been able to look in the English records.  I wondered if John and Agnes were married in Scotland.  John was born in Embleton, Northumberland but Agnes put that she was born in Scotland.

Were they married by the time of the 1841 census?  Did they have any children then?  that might give an approximate date for the marriage.    It might be worth looking at links from Genuki for the pre 1837 marriages in that area.  There should be a link to the Paul Joiner one somewhere and Boyds covers some years - though too early I think.

There is a Agnes Sarah Lavinia Laidlaw marriage, in Haslingden Lancashire 1849 I cant work out how to find the spouse

I cant find a Marriage. Scotland is definitely a possibility!

1851 Census they are in Alnwick HO107/2419/335/7
Daughter Jessies Birth is Reg as Gibbinson.

1861 they have a Thomas age 14, born c 1847 as a Son. He is Reg as Thomas James Laidlaw, Sept 1846, Newcastle Tyne, 25 380

EDIT I cant locate him under Laidlaw or Gibbenson in 1851!

This has been indexed twice on freeBMD - once is Haslingden and once in Kensington.
The original index clearly shows Kensington, and family search record search shows the spouse was James Thomas Cooper.
