And...
Sands Directories
1905 McSweeney, Morgan, West St Paddington (that would be same chap as mentioned in LoganH's find, Paddington and Darlinghurst are next door suburbs in East Sydney district)

1906 and 1907 directory both have the house number as 26 West St

Also on NSW BDM online index for deaths there's several entries under Morgan McSweeney that may be of interest : 1877, 1891, 1905, 1907 so perhaps check further

Hi Ken, my name is Ann O'Sullivan (nee McSweeney) and I believe that Morgan Mc Swiney is possibly my great great grandfather. I have an article about him which says that he actually returned to Cork in 1869 having only served two years of a 7 year sentence. He was pardoned by all accounts. He lived in Cork at the time of his sentence for high treason. Let me know if you feel this is of any help. I appreciate that your post is really old but I only started looking recently following a family funeral where the the information surfaced.

Hi Ann,

I found some info on Morgan McSweeney that indeed stated that he was granted a free pardon and returned to Cork, I also found a short bio on 'Voices from the Grave' which included a photo of him. I am lead to believe that Morgan was a brother of my 2nd great grandfather John McSweeney. I'd be very interested in sharing some of the information that I have or anything that you maybe able to add to this story. thanks Ken
