You know you are addicted when you read the birth/marriages/death notices in the area of research and wonder if any corresponding names are related to you.
You know you are addicted when after years of trying to interest other members of the family to no avail, one of your children suddenly says something like 'Mum, what did my gt grandfather do for a living?' You rush to your computer and print off all the details glad that they are at last showing some interest.
You know you are addicted when a relie dies and you are invited to choose a bit of furniture and you opt for articles of clothing, old photos and household bills.
You know you are addicted when you pass up an evening out to sit in front of the computer.

Gee, Lydart, there were Pomeroys in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada (place names:  Pomeroy Ridge & Pomeroy Bridge).    And since they were in Charlotte County, they were probably across the river in Calais, Maine, as well.  Maybe you could start doing worldwide one-name studies (after you've traced the last of your lines back).

As for the addiction to genealogy:  guilty as charged.  I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one!

 :D

You know you really are addicted, when you go to a Church for a
Wedding/Funeral, and start to read the headstones in the graveyard,
and think it would be interesting to spend more time there looking.

You know your addicted to genealogy, when you ask people  if they know where their ancestors are born.

And when your 9 year old tells everyone who listens that their mum's  job is finding dead people

Heres another one.

When you hear someones surname that is a bit different,
you think to yourself, that would be interesting to search for/or
if they had a common name/think to yourself again/
wouldn't like that one.

I think I'm getting ATG really bad,
must go to the Doc,s,
now he really does have an unusual surname.!!!!!!!!!!!

You really know that you are addicted when you go to bed at night and start dreaming about deceased ancestors names, census records and finding that long lost relative who will be able to answer all those question about uncle William or auntie Minnie.

I've dreamt that I was going through census records.  Those are the most boring dreams!
