I'll have to start a whole new website if I'm to give you my son's quips in full
I inadvertently named him after the patron saint of speakers and his patron has endowed him well!

Travellng by air last year just as we approach the baggage check he asked me in a very loud voice did I have to tell the people I had heroin in my bag!! I had ANADIN!! very red faced and more loudly I told him so and took it out to show the security guard who was struggling to keep a straight face!! That was his story of the day if not the week!

Sometimes I  wonder which ancestor gave him his sense of humour

Lol Dee me too!
Dad & I have been taking photos of the ones in the local Cemeteries around Manchester for various people.

A few weeks ago we went on our 'family week' holiday with all the family to Anglsey .............. driving along a country lane we spotted a small Cemetery, and a very clearly visible War Grave in it ............. dads reaction? "I wonder if anyones photographed the war graves in this area" - I think we got him addicted!

Reminds me of my late father.  He would always look in churchyards, (as I do and did even as a child)  and if he saw a child's grave (as you can imagine there were many, especially in the old village churchyards), he would bow his head and say a prayer.  We lived near such a graveyard and he found a grave of a child called John.  We had no idea who this child was, but every time dad came to visit, he would go to the churchyard to see John, to say hello and say a prayer for him.

What a great story - brought a tear to my eye!  :'(  What a lovely man your late father must have been.  I'm sure that John would have been waiting for him when he passed over, to thank him for his prayers.  May both of them rest in peace!

MarieC - Thank you for your kind words about my dad.  Yes he was a lovely man - well most of the time ::) - Hopefully, not only John, but lots of his relatives, including his twin sister were waiting for him.

I think that was directed to me stone chat
When I was in school we were taught a whole subject called CIVICS and it was the study of the rights and duties of citizens.
You were taught about governement, politics, voting, civil duty, economics, banking, international issues and culture, etc. I don't know if there is a comparable subject today (and I'm not dramtically old!!)
