When you pass a church and your 4 year old asks " Do we have anyone buried in that one as well mum?".
  Well start them early ;D

Hi,
I have been doing my searching for 18years...But I knew I
was addicted when..... ;D
I live in the USA and only 340 miles to the Big Salt Lake
Family History CenterLDS....
Well I was doing research there and I found my first
Death Record..My gggram...I just cried out loud. :'(..I ran to the information Counter where my mother was asking a question about maps ...She looked at me and the gentleman also looked at me crying ..and mom said " Whats the Matter"
I responded to her saying " Grandma Jane is dead" ...my mother looked at me and kind of laughed and the man said
"I'm sorry to hear that is there someone you need to call"?
Mom not hearing him said to me also " Well of coarse shes
dead honey that was over a hundred and fifty years ago"
The man just bursted out laughing.. :D..realizing what I was
saying ( a past death not a present death) ....and told me
"Its ok your not the first one to do that or the last."
I felt kind of foolish but they are living today with you is the
way i feel...So I love them as I find they as they are part of me....Happy Hunting to all.. :).Crookedtail

Your Gp  asks if there's any diabetes in your family and you say-No I've not discovered that as yet!
That was this morning when I discovered I was hypertensive.

Oh lol Barbara,

that happened to me last week when the doc asked if there was any xxxxxx in the family. He probably wondered why I was smiling to such a grave question.  How do you say that you can happily report no back to at least 1837 :D

On the plus side - my mums family doctor is very interested in the history of the village and spent an extra 2 hours listening to me going off about how long the family had lived there blah, blah, blah....  So that was 5 minutes giving mum a check over and 2 hours talking local history  ;D

Hi

Its great when you are not the only one at work who is interested in their ancestors.  When I had my appraisal earlier this year, we spent two minutes discussing my job and ten minutes discussing why my boss couldn't find her GGG grandmother on a census  ;D

I also have a confession.  When my aunty died earlier this year, I had a pencil and paper discreetly tucked away in my handbag so I could write down any bits of information I heard (after the funeral I may add).

And I did find out some things, although to hide what I was doing I did "go" to the toilet a lot to scribble it all down  ;D

Barbara.

Similar thing happened to Me the other day, when I asked My Doc for some notes out of My Medical File! ::) ;)

She asked 'What Kind of Notes'?

I told Her I was trying to complete a Decendants Chart with Known Medical Ailments (instead of BDM's), & had done it back to @1850 but had just realised I had'nt listed My Own & wanted to add My Own notes back to at least when I was 10Yrs old (when I was knockdown by a Car & spent 5 days in a Coma) :-[

You are seriously addicted pegasus.  :o Do you think it's time to seek medical help? .... Oh! I see you already did. :)

My main symptom right now is reading names off the sides of lorries on the motorway and wondering if I have any of them in my tree and getting quite excited when both name and county matches. :)
