Eliza Hamilton

I am trying to find the birth record of my great grandmother Eliza Eva Hamilton, also information about her family.  She was married in June 1886 to Joseph Loates at Christchurch Camberwell.  Her age is given as 21 and this ties in with her death record of 1934 at Hastings where she is recorded as being 69 when she died.  I am assuming she was born in 1865 but can find no record under the name Eliza.

The marriage certificate shows her father as William Hamilton, a warehouse keeper, and the other witness as Alice Hamilton.  The address given is 5 Tustin Street Camberwell.  I have looked up the 1881 census and the family were at that address.  I cannot find an earlier census record for the family.

If anyone can help with my confusion and give me some pointers I would appreciate that very much.  Thanks,  Pat

Hi hope this helps, if you look at the 1871 and put in HAMBLETON you might have a nice surprise!

As can be seen this compares very favourably with the family in 1891 at 5, Tustin Street.
