Hi Mary,

Doesn't look like we can go much further at the moment.  As you say there is no death in the register for 1870 for a William Farmiloe, in fact there are only three FArmiloe listed for the whole of England.  Maybe the report in the Western Daily Press is worth following up.  Is Camp Hill nr Stroud?

What happened to Linda Gertrude FArmiloe?  She has a birth entry but nothing else and I could not find her at all on any census.  Perhpas she was adopted and changed her name.

Kate Harriet is still with her widowed sister Mary in 1911 and there is a Lena FArmiloe (Linda perhaps) working as a cook in Woodchester.

Sorry I cannot help any more.

Best wishes,

Elizabeth

Hello. I'm doing some family research for a friend and came across your questions
Re: Linda Gertrude Farmiloe
Linda Farmloe was a British Home Child emigrated to Canada by Annie MacPherson and adopted by the Summers family. On June 29, 1885, Linda arrived in Quebec aboard the Circassian. From there she was brought to Marchmont Home in Belleville, Ontario.

February 28 1906   Linda Summers age 23 married John S. Cook age 39 at Winchester, Dundas, Ontario
September 1 1975   death of Linda Cooke, age 92 at Stormont, Dundas Ontario
