Census years available???1931

Is 1901 the latest census available?  I just read that 1911 is not available "free" yet.  What is the schedule for future years?

I am sure this information is available somewhere but I haven't found it yet.

Do mean the census for England/Wales? 1911 census is latest but not freely available.
Irish 1901 and 1911 census are both online (free)-

1901 census is available for Scotland on Scotland's People (scanned images) and Ancestry (transcript only). 1911 census not yet released.

That was fast.  I am impressed.  I meant England.  When do you think 1931 will be available.  I had a relative William Taylor, who came to the states and raised a family and returned to England sometime after 1925 with his third wife, Clara. 

  I found them in the US Census for 1920, and getting a passport in 1923 to visit relatives for 6 months.  I have no idea where they went on this trip.

  I wanted to check the census for English census for 1931 but it doesn't seem to be available.  William Taylor was 66 at the time of their visit in 1923.

Any suggestions of where to look?

Thank you.  That was very interesting.  As you can tell I am in the US.  Was a census taken in 1941.  I would think there was more important things to think about.

Assuming that the census releases go as scheduled by the 100-year thing, then we'll see the next release in 2022 (of the 1921 census)...and then no further census releases up until 2052 when the 1951 census is due to be released.
For 1931 your best bet would probably be to check with electoral registers, although this of course would only give you a basic record of who was registered to vote in the household so is a poor substitute for a census return.
There was a census of sorts taken in 1939 for the purposes of registration for national identity cards upon the outbreak of war, but I'm unsure as to if that's also subject to the 100-year retainer or even what kind of information it gives.  No doubt someone else here will know.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the 1931 census would have recorded the occupation at all English addresses on census night.  If your relatives were over here on census night, they would have been recorded somewhere, even staying at a hotel, but you may have had a hard time finding them, especially since Taylor is a fairly common name. 

The Electoral Roll only lists those eligable to vote, so they wouldn't be on those, either.

Haven't any of their photos taken on their trip been passed down through the family ?
