I have a Charles A. Everett who by the 1860  Maine US Census was born in New Hampshire 1816 married a unknown Angella. They had 5 Children all listed as born in Maine. The census is from town of Milo. Angella was also listed as born in Maine. about 1826. Would like to find out who this Angella is and anymore info on Charles A. Everett who they have listed as being a lawyer.

Also in 1880 census; 1900 census Angella states born Oct 1825 and is living with son Lucius as is one of his sisters.  Angella says she has borne 7 children with 6 living.

Charles appears to have been part of a body who started the University of Maine system:  http://www.maine.edu/system/policy_manual/policy_section102.php

Charles was b. 1815 in Meredith, NH and died Dover Maine 1890 (see Google books Report of the Maine State Bar Association for ..., Volume 22 for brief bio.

Also see http://www.milohistorical.org/history/west.php

I searched "charles a everett" lawyer maine, and possibly a broader search would turn up more.  Sorry, couldn't find Angella's maiden name.

Nick

Modified:  OK, apparently Angella's last name was Dennett.  Found on Findagrave.  They were apparently in West Virginia in 1870:

Thanks very much for all of this info. Since my post I found the 1880 census on family search which list this
Text: 1880 Census Record:Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father`s Birthplace Mother`s Birthplace Charles EVERETT Self M Male W 64 NH Lawyer NH NH Angella EVERETT Wife M Female W 54 ME Keep House ME ME Lucian EVERETT Son S Male W 21 ME Law Student NH ME Minnie EVERETT Dau S Female W 17 ME At School NH ME Gussie EVERETT Dau S Female W 14 ME At School NH ME Source Information: Census Place Dover, Piscataquis, Maine Family History Library Film 1254487 NA Film Number T9-0487 Page Number 46D

So between 1860 and 1880 they went to West Virginia. In 1880 It shows the 3 oldest were no longer living at home. Fannie is my Great Great Grandmother.

And Thanks for finding the maiden name of Angella

I have 7 children listed
Charles
William
Sarah
Fannie
Lucian
Minnie
Gussie
Sarah and Fannie were born the same year. Also I wonder if it was Sarah who died? She was listed in the 1860 census. So she must of died before 1870 census

I don't have any Gideon listed in the 1860 one. Strange

* Findagrave info states that Sarah in 1900 census listed as a sister was actually Lucien's (Lucius's) wife and gives details.

Since you are probably interested in tracking this family back,  also Google "Jonathan C. Everett"  He too was a fairly well-known lawyer in the Northeast and father of Charles.  A couple of law-type books have brief bios of him.
