Interested if there is a newspaper article about the drowning of Peter Harley and Robert Motion on 31st March 1887 in Tayport Harbour. They were on board the unregistered vessel 'Fisherlass'- I have the death certificates but was interested if anyone maybe had access to newspaper archives.

Thanks Ellen

Hi Ellen

Found 2 newspaper articles - 1 about the incident, and 1 about the funeral. Their names are mentioned in both articles.

Unfortunately, the articles are too long to re-type here , so if you can send me a personal message with your home email address, I will send you copies of the original articles (if no one else beats me).

Your email has to go in as a personal message, as if it appears within this open topic, it may be "spammed".

Hi Ellen

Found another 2 articles - 1 a different account from another newspaper, and the other relating to a charity taken up by locals for families of the deceased fishermen.

Many thanks to Les for his quick and efficient response- so pleasing to read the accounts of the day- much better than just the register of a death!
