McCloskey's of Dungiven / Feeny
« on: Sunday 08 August 10 03:08 BST (UK) »
Looking for info. on McCloskey's of Dungiven / Feeny. My ancestor Patrick shows a baptism of 1832 in Catholic Church of Dungiven (now St. Patrick) (PRONI record). He married a Catherine Devine - not sure if in Ireland or States (Phila., PA). I assume he emigrated before 1857. I recently visited Dungiven to see church but found nothing new. Looking for some further proof I have the right guy. Most ships records show this area (Dungiven, Feeny, Strabane) as his possible origin.

Thank you. I really appreciate your response. He may not be my Patrick, but your find reinforces my my belief that he was from the Roe Valley area.
