Hi, I am unable to locate a birth record for:

   Maurice W L Trevassa   (sometimes TRAVASSA)   1931

   Maurice is sometimes transcribed as MORRIS

He died in 1987, but I need to find the birth record so I can attach him to the correct parents (which at the moment is an educated guess).

According to Findmypast and Free BMD there were no Trevassa/Travassa births anywere in the country.

I checked the death for Maurice and it was 1931.No wonder I had no luck with the birth.

I wonder if the death entry is correct about his birth date?

Do you know for sure that he was 56 when he died?

It seems odd that there's another Maurice/Morris WL Trevassa born 1939 in the same area.

I've just browsed the 1931 birth registers for AMJ and JAS quarters and there's no Trevassa (or variation) that I can see. If he was born 28th May 1931 then I think he would have been registered in May, June or July.

Far more likely to me is that the death entry on the index has been copied incorrectly and instead of his birth date being 28th May 1931, it should say 28th May 1939, which would fit with the Morris WL Trevassa registered in the 1939 JAS quarter.
