Hi Kath

I am new to this game, but have quite a lot of information on John Doughty Hepworth as I am researching the surgeons in Leeds in the mid 19th century, but anything you have would be useful. He is interesting as he became bankrupt in 1832 and then had to make a living through what can only be described as quackery type medicine in Leeds and the surrounding areas.

Hello Rachel

there appears to be a mix up somewhere regarding the Hepworth family.  Your Hepworth family have no connection with my origianal postings.  Maybe you could open up a new topic regarding your family.

Regards

Kathleen

Hi there,
I am a beginner and my family are trying to research a Surgeon Hepworth of Guisley, that is all the info we have on him although we do have an engraving of him, wife and children.
We are not sure if the John Doughty Hepworth that you are researching is the one we are looking for but my father in law is gathering all his papers and will be sending them to us.
My Father in law's granmother was only known as grandma Hepworth but we do know that she owned 7 public houses in Leeds and 3 Hotels one being the merrion Hotel.
Hope you can help.
Bonnysuki
