Hi,
I'm not researching this family, but may be able to help.   You don't say what the problem is or how far you've managed to get.  Can you give a bit more detail?
You're more likely to find info about the farm under the spelling Tirmynydd or Tir Mynydd.  According to Genuki, Llansamlet it was in Llansamlet Higher.  Modern day postcode:  SA7 9EA - use Google Maps to view satellite picture.

I'm assuming you have the census details about this family.  Births, marriages & deaths would have been registered at Swansea, so you could contact Swansea register office to try to trace the missing births - giving them all the info you have.
A Richard Rees of Llansamlet Higher appears to have been a local Overseer of the poor according to 2 articles in the Cambrian newspaper, dated 12th July 1878 & 11th April 1879:

use search text Richard Rees Llansamlet and select "all words" option
