Hi Geoff

Haven't yet checked to see if others are researching this NZ branch of the CLINTON family.

Rubina Ellen DAWSON was the last of the family to pass away -  in 1994.   In the event there are no other researchers, then you might like to contact the funeral director whose name is noted on her cremation record.   They may be able to supply you with details of next of kin.

Added:   Can't see a website for funeral director - however if you Google "Newberrys Funeral + Whangarei NZ" you'll find an email address for them.

Austcemindex has a photo of the grave of Blanch CUNNINGHAM at Portland (NSW) cemetery.  There are some CLINTONs there also but not sure if they belong to your family  :-\

The William who died 1964 and buried at Portland is William Stephen Martin CLINTON, brother of Blanch and son of James and Martha.  Archibald James is his son, born in New Zealand, 1909.  http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/script/veteran.asp?ServiceID=A&VeteranID=396406

My Great Grandmother Ellen Elizabeth Lanham born 1855 was the sister of Martha Jane Lanham who married James Clinton. I have done quite a bit of research on both the Lanham and Leviston families. Have a photo which has Ellen and her sister Martha written on it. YA

Hi
Thanks for the contact sorry for the delay in replying but I have been away on extended vacation.  If Desmond A Dawson is interested then I would like to send him a letter. What I and a number of other researchers into the Clinton Family are interested in is the father of James Noble Clinton who died in 1837. His name was Arthur Clinton and we are all trying to find out where he was born. Family folk lore has him comming from Ireland but despite many searches no trace has been found. I was hoping that a family bible or similar record might exist in either Australia or New Zealand. Any help would be most welcome
