Hi Cas
Thanks for your reply.
The only information I have is my grandmother Mary Ann Guy left Bristol for South Wales around 1901. She was a widow.with six young children. In 1906 she was thought to be in Pontypridd, Later that year she marries my grandfather Walter Benjamin Godfrey.
On the 1911 census my grandparents were living in Enid Street, Trealaw.
When living here there are family memories and two of the children from Mary Ann's first marriage settle in Trealaw and marry at the local church.
William James Guy marries Dorothy Morgans in 1914
Henry Victor Guy marries Emily Robina Duffy in 1920.
Henry Victor and his family continue to live in Trealaw after this.
My grandmother remains there also at least until 1914 when she returns back and forth to Bristol, although keeping her South Wales connections strong.
Family recollections say grandmother had other children including twins. I believe I can account for them up until the 1911 census but after that I am not sure. I have never found any baptisms for any of the family. The last child was born in 1919 in Bristol, by then grandmother was 46 years of age so children after this unlikely. Of course they could have been miscarriages or stillborn. I thought looking at the cemetery in Trealaw would be useful.
Do you have any idea of what coal-pit grand dad may have worked in when living in Enid Street?
So many questions I am sorry. I am going to make a pilgrimage there next week must get my head around things!
With thanks ElmTree
