Hi Philsearch
This could well mean a search through the GRO marriage indexes to find the listing and then purchase a marriage certificate. You can view the indexes online
http://www.1837online.com
(pay per view) - looking for Ruth KELLAND (the least common name) and then cross matching to find Mr JONES with the same reference number.
A marriage certificate can then be purchased (£7)
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/
to get some info on Mr JONES and, hopefully, proceed further.
Good luck

Hi Philsearch,
this might also be a good place to look:
http://www.trevor.jones4.btinternet.co.uk/Welcome.html
It's a web-site, that started off as a family history of one Jones family, and is expanding to include EVERY Jones in the UK !
For instance:
The Jones UK Database
is an ever growing list of Jones ancestors from all over the UK that have been and are still added by the many people all over the world that are seeking their elusive ancestors. Is yours there?
Jones BDM & Census Records
is a collection of data from around the UK which has been added by many visitors to the website. BDM means Births, Deaths & Marriages
Try it and see !
And let us know, how you get on !!!
Bob
