Sorry should have mentioned I have the dc of my John McClure/McLure and his parents are listed as Alexander McLure and Agnes McCulloch which is borne out by the names of his 1st son and 2nd daughter as per the Scottish naming patterns. Cheers Evelina

Hi, My husband is descended from Alexander McLure(his grandfather), son of John Rankin McLure etc and I am gathering information on the preceding generations. Stuck on the John McLure who was married to Sarah Collins. Would be grateful for help on this?

Hi Alice Thanks for getting in touch, I am descended form John Rankin McLure's brother David McClure, note the different spelling, many of our relatives use either McLure or McClure but its usually all the same family.  I will send you a personal message, cheers Evelyn
