I'm looking for the parents of John Black from Tyrone Ireland 1n 1780-1826 he married Ann McCurdy and had a son named Joshua Black born 1801 at Corkhill Cooktown County Tyrone Ireland. Joshua came to Australia in 1833. can anyone help? Greenivy  ???

Do you have a copy of Joshua,s birth cert.
If so is there any mention of his parent,s marriage.

Civil registration of births in Ireland began in 1864 so there will be no birth certificate for Joshua Black (born 1801). Registration of Catholic marriages began 1864 and from 1845 for other marriages so you will need to search for church records, if they exist.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi, I am John Black's great-great-great-great-grandson, Robert.  I take it you are in the family?  We have information from Joshua to the present day, but we were unaware of John!  I'd be very interested in speaking further.

Thankyou r0bert0 my husband's great great grandfather is Joshua Black born 1801. I'm trying to trace John Black and Ann McCurdy but not having much luck. It's good to make contact with you  :) Take no notice of the silly poll thing

Hello Greenivy - did you happen to find any more information on John Black? I am Joshua's great-grandaughter and have just begun to delve into the family history.
