Can anyone assist with information on the Davidson family from Petty near Inverness. They lived in the area during the mid 1850's

Hi Ian

My own Davidson ancestors lived in Fisherton - Connage - Petty from well before
1725 ( Donald Davidson ) until my GreatGrandfather - William Davidson left in
1874 to marry Ann Young in Edinkillie,Moray.

If you can give me any names - with dates if possible - I'll try to see where your   part of the family fits in.

Hi
There seemed to be a mass movement of people from the Petty area in 1850s and 1860s . I am researchuing the Patience family from Petty who moved to Rockfield Village,Tarbat.I have a James Patience who married a Janet Smith(1856 in Petty)- her father was Donald Smith mother Ann Davidson all b. Petty but living in Rockfield in 1861 Census(Except Donald havent got too him yet- think he may have died before that)

Hope this helps
Susan

Hi Sue,

A  Patience Family Tree  (which I have access to ) seems to have definite links to your family.

The earliest are born in Petty -- later ones in Tarbat and more recent in Fearn.

On it , I have identified James Patience  ( 1834-1914 ) &  Janet Smith  ( 1831-1914 ) plus their daughter Ann.

Ann married David Patience in Tarbat ( 2nd Oct. 1885 ). David's ancestral line leads directly back to Janet Cameron ( b.1767 ) &

William Davidson  ( b.1758 ) ,  who are my own direct ancestors.

Hi Dav
This is actually my husbands family. I have a lot of information on the Patience tree & can see the connection through Ann & David. I have the Patience line back to Alexander & Margaret Johnstone.
Anything you want to know just ask & I'll see if I can help

Susan
