I totally agree ::)
I am working my way through Hill Marriages c 1790-1811 at the moment;
There is this one so far;
RICHARD Hill to Elizabeth SUFFOLK, 09 July 1799, St Mary, Hinckley, Leics

I will keep plodding along but really think you need the Death Cert ;)

Hi folks
Just got a birth certificate today - for a daughter - Eliza - of Charles Blower and Ann formerly HILL! so there we have proof!
Brother Mercian is pretty sure Ann is the daughter of Thomas and Catherine.
He has found 8 children for them, all but 1 baptised at the Great Meeting (Presbyterian) Hinckley.
Catherine's maiden name appears to be RIVETT, Mercian has found a marriage of Thomas Hill to a Katherine Rivett at Burbage on boxing day 1785.
Thats us beginning to crack this line at long last.
Do you folk have anymore ideas on this topic?
Thanks for all your help

Hi
mercian has been doing his stuff! This is what he has found:
Thomas Rivett, b. c 1670, had the following children in Hinckley:
*James, 4 Aug 1694
*Elizabeth, 8 Dec 1696
*Dorothy, 22 Oct 1699
*Thomas, 12 July 1702
*Robert, 3 June 1705
*Ann, 15 Feb 1707
*Winefrid, 31 Aug 1711
*Jane, 8 Aug 1714
*Mary, 7 Apr 1718

Of these, Robert is probably the same Robert Rivett who married Ann Everet at Burbage on 11 Oct 1725. They had in Burbage:
*John, bp 30 June 1726, d 13 May 1731
*Sarah, bp 12 Feb 1728, d 28 Mar 1729
*Michael, bp 26 July 1730
*Sarah, bp 7 May 1732
*William, bp 13 Apr 1735
*Martha, bp 12 jan 1738, d 15 Nov 1742
*John, bp 10 Apr 1742, d 28 Apr 1742
*Jonathan, bp 20 Jan 1743
*Robert, bp 10 Apr 1748

Of these, Michael is probably the Michael Rivett who married Sarah Woodcock at Burbage on 30 June 1752. They had in Burbage:
*Sarah, bp 14 Nov 1753
*John, bp 8 Oct 1755
*Joseph, bp 18 Dec 1757
*Sarah, bp 14 Aug 1763
*Cattearn, bp 29 Nov 1767
*Martha, bp 25 Mar 1770
*Michael, bp 16 Aug 1772, d 8 Jan 1773
*Michael, bp 7 Apr 1776

At this stage the spellings in the Burbage register are extremely eccentric. Cattearn 1767 is probably the Kitty or Katherine or Catherine Rivett who married Thomas Hill on Boxing Day 1785.

Thats the Thomas and Catherine that have been mentioned before!!
