MI Lookup Request for Stichill

I am looking for a gravestone inscription relating to a John Gray who died in Stichill in 1863. He married twice, his first wife Agnes nee Rutherford died before 1851, and his second wife Mary nee Renton died and was buried in Stichill in 1857.

If anybody can help on this it would be greatly appreciated.

The inscription reads:

'Sacred to the memory of John Gray carpenter in Stichill who died 16.9.1863 aged 58 years. Agnes Rutherford his wife who died 2.3.1850 aged 37 years and of Mary Renton his second wife who died 29.5.1857 aged 36 years and of his sons Henry who died 2.11.1861 aged 25 years James who died 20.12.1873 aged 26 years William who died 14.4.1877 aged 36 years and of his daughter Margaret who died 4.9.1907 aged 68 years'

I was there, in Stichel, in the graveyard in October taking pics !! I hadn`t seen this post then , or if I had I`d forgotten, in the intervening years !!

I would willingly have taken some photos for you, especially as I think there may a slight connection between your Gray family and my Black family. This needs more work at present as I have got so many generations with the same christian names.

However, I am hoping to go again sometime but it`s a long drive from west Wales where I live !
