alfred varley maybe born yorkshire
« on: Friday 30 July 10 00:25 BST (UK) »
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can help me find where my alfred varley was born?? I think he was born around 1860 ish-and he married phillippa husband in 1882 in nelson lancashire. Think phillipa husband came via todmorden from cornwall previous to living in nelson lancs. But just not sure where alfred was born?? Could anyone find them on the 1891 census and check if it says he was born in yorkshire. ?? Ibve found an alfred on the 1881 in todmorden living on his own aged 26 ish which makes him born around 1855, but not sure thats him though the todmorden connection there made me wonder if that is where he met phillippa??
thanks
frankie

Hi Frankie, the 1891 shows Alfred Varley born 1865 Nelson, Lancs.  The 1901 shows the same date & place.  If you need any more info from these records just shout.

From FreeBMD, Alfred Varley b. Sept Q 1864 Burnley (Nelson / Great & Little Marsden are part of Burnley Registration District)

If you think the 1881 family is the right one let me know and I will give you details of them in earlier censuses.

Cheers
