Wish I had found this thread earlier I have 4 ancestors living in Bug Hole Dudley in 1861 We went to the Black Country museum Monday and asked and asked but no one had ever heard of it so we were left wondering. Anyway one of my lot was leeping a pub at 6 Bughoe I would love to know its name
1861
6 Bug Hole Daniel BAKER Inn keeper
7 Samuel SHARE Provisions Dealer
8 John SHARE Coal miner
25 Joseph SHARE colliery labourer
John,Samuel and Joseph were all sons of Mrs Daniel BAKER
Daniel had previously been a PC in Holly Hall Now Sarah SHARE was a widow and a victualler in 1851 in Holly Hall and her second husband is the inn keeper at 6 Bug Hole in 1861
So did she move or is it the same Inn ie are Bug Hole and Holly Hall one and the same? So what was the name of the Inn?
I think that information about the Dudley Bug is very interesting.
