Wish I had found this thread earlier I have 4 ancestors living in Bug Hole Dudley in 1861 We went to the Black Country museum Monday and asked and asked but no one had ever heard of it so we were left wondering. Anyway one of my lot was leeping a pub at 6 Bughoe I would love to know its name

Daniel had previously been a PC in Holly Hall Now Sarah SHARE was a widow and a victualler in 1851 in Holly Hall and her second husband is the inn keeper at 6 Bug Hole in 1861
So did she move or is it the same Inn ie are Bug Hole and Holly Hall one and the same? So what was the name of the Inn?
I think that information about the Dudley Bug is very interesting.

Just to add a bit more In the PO Directory of 1850 Sarah Share is listed at The Kings Head Holly Hall.At one time I had a discussion here http://www.midlandspubs.co.uk/genealogy/worcestershire/index.html when it seems that the Kings Head and the King William were one and the same but appear to be near Pensnett road I wonder if anyone local to Dudley would agree to that conclusion
I will enquire at the Archive service as you suggest but have no idea when we will get back to that area we  took a day to visit the museum on our way north last week (well worth a visit)

The 'Dudley Bug' is a Trilobite that has become the symbol of the town of Dudley in the English West Midlands.
So thats where the name comes from a fossilised trilobite found in the area

Hi Sarah Share was my great grammar she was born In the U.S.A. In 1850/1948 her first child my grandfather also born in U.S.A thay lived In Low town until thay died my mother also was born in low town

Sorry this Sarah Share is not yours . Mine was born Sarah Whitehouse in 1795 Kingswinford married Samuel Share in Kingswinford in 1812 she and Samuel moved to Holly Hall where she was widowed in 1849 and then she kept a pub in Holly Hall and  married Daniel Baker .

Hi Your Samuel Share and Sarah had two children Sharlotte and Joseph when he died on 20 Th Jan;1849 thay were living In Sedgley he is buried in All Saints Church Yard .by the way the pub in Low Town was the Jolly Collier
