Hello Bagpuss
There was a Bughole at Wordsley, now known as Buckpool.

Its always nice to know where abouts these different places were, and the name Bughole has always made me smile - I'd love to know how the name came about.

Holly Hall is just outside of Dudley its mainly an estate off the Stourbridge Road and leading onto Woodside then into Lye and Stourbridge ~ must confess never heard of Bug Hole but today I descovered a place called "lonely" which is mid-way from Dudley to Wolverhapmton hope this helps x

forgot to say best route out of Dudley is the climb past "top Church" on the High Street (or St. Thomas' Parish Church where Duncan Edwards sang in the chior) you keep walking til you come to an area known as Queens cross which to the right is about 4 blocks of high rise flats and to the left the "old" cemetary carry on along this Rd you can't miss Holly Hall bout 10 minutes out x

Try to find when the houses were built, and then search local papers for that time to see whether there are any stories of colonies of insects etc. being disturbed by the builders.

I have a feeling it was a tunnel in Wordsley, not Dudley, Dudley comes up all the time as a registration area. I doubt if years ago anyone would have been bothered about a colony of bugs, they were happy living with much worse!
