Probs with PM system

I have been asked by moderator Sillgen to post my query on here as she is on holiday.

I cannot send PM from my a/c to anyone...does anyone know why??? or how to fix it??

When you say "to anyone" - can you try sending one to me please?  Have you been sending to people with few or no posts?

Hi and welcome to Rootschat.

Your problem for PM's probably is because you just joined today and didn't have enough posts to send a PM at the time.    New members need to have at least 3 posts before they can start using the PM system.

Hi everyone
I am not a new member, but someone I was trying to send a message too is, did not notice this at the time.
The second PM I was trying to send would not "send" because of something I typed in the subject bar, not
had this problem before, changed the text I had written and it went through, strange  ???

Someone can receive one (but only one) PM even if they have never posted.  To receive any more, or to send PMs, they must have made two posts.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Sometimes person will be able to get one PM. Help pages says 3 posts are needed to use PM system but sometimes it willwork after 2 posts.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
