Lecky, Cassidy, Flynn & Duddy
« on: Sunday 25 July 10 06:38 BST (UK) »
My husband Niall's  maternal great grandparents James & Ellen (Cassidy) Lecky were married on 08/08/1881 in the Long Tower (I believe). James was born approx 1845/46 and Ellen was born about 1842/43. James' father was also called James.

Also, Niall's other maternal great grandparents James & Sarah (Duddy) Flynn were married on 23/10/1879. Both James & Sarah were born approx 1859/60. James' mother was called Elizabeth.

Does anybody have any other information on these people? I would appreciate any help

Frances

Hi,
Both families appear to be on the 1901 census, the Leckys in William Street, Londonderry and the Flynns in Abercorn road, Londonderry. See www.census.nationalarchives.ie

thanks kingskerswell, but I've got that information already. What I'm looking for is to go back further generations like siblings & parents of James & Ellen and James & Sarah

Thanks again

It helps if you tell us what information you already have and exactly what you are looking for. Some details on Lecky family were found for you on this other thread-
www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,407450.msg2756201.html#msg2756201

Since the information you are looking for is before the start of civil registration you will need to check church records (if they exist for the right period) to try to find baptisms and marriages.

If any of the family are buried in Derry City Cemetery it would be worth contacting them to see what details are in the register (usually includes name, date of death, age, address, father'sand mother's first names, religion).
