Thanks for your input, aghadowey.

ADAMS is such a common name in those areas - I thought I'd made a chip in the brick wall when I found Hannah on the Griffiths!

Final question:

What info is usuallly shown on a Northern Ireland death certificate, from around 1864 - 1890?

Very little, unfortunately- name, date and place of death, age (in years), sex, marital status, occupation, cause of death, name of informant.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

There is an entry in Ancestry.com - Records for David Adams born Coleraine, Northern Ireland in 1800. It names his parents as John Adams and Ann. David married Ann Roberts (1818- ) and had five children- John, William, Alexander, Thomas and Ann.

There may be more on Ancestry.com,  which I cannot access as I am not a paying subscriber.

On his website, which focuses mainly on William Adams, his 16 children and their descendants, Graeme Adams includes a note about the forebears of David. You can pick up that website by googling KiwiAdams.

Thanks cassius

I know the Kiwi Adams website well – I supplied the David and Hannah, and their children, information to Graeme Adams in the first place.

I live in hope that one day I can find PROOF of David’s parentage, place and DOB, marriage, death etc.  And if there were any more children.

Seems to me that everyone has taken the “supposition” that David’s parents were John or Thomas or Alexander – but no one can supply any info about where the info came from.

But one of these days…….so watch this space!!

Thanks again!

This is my grandfather (with his wife Charlotte Turner from Somerset Castleroe, Coleraine..and son Tommy)  Thomas Adams, son of Henry, who was the son of Thomas who was the son of David and Hannah...
I do have an Adams family site on my heritage and you are welcome to visit anytime and use any pics or info you find.. I have been researching the family history a few years now after finding my grandads war papers ....
ADAMS (Coleraine): TURNER (Castleroe): TURNER (Belfast): HILLIS (Belfast, Carrick, Limavady and Australia): BOURDON ?? (unsure of spelling):

Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you – I’ve been on holiday for the past 2 weeks.

Do you have a link to your page on My Heritage?  The link you’ve given on ?Ulster Ancestry? only takes me to the home page.  Is there some way I can see what info you have, without paying (yet another!) subscription?

May I ask if you have any “proof” that your Thomas is the son of David and Hannah?  It would be a massive breakthrough for me if you do, and I would be more than happy to share the info I have on Thomas siblings and their descendants.
