Births September qtr 1861

Alice Jane Cullen  Farnborough  2a 94

I can't see an obvious marriage so you may have to invest in a copy of the above birth cert to get Eliza's maiden name.

It wasn't Moth as Eliza Moth b 1838/39 Farnborough married John Woollard and is on both the 1861 and 1871 census

Hi there
Patrick was my gt gt grandfather. Anecdotally he came from Ireland was a soldier
Various records show him a Chelsea pensioner at Newark Militia in 1871 census - but he is one of 4 Patrick Cullen options of about the right age on the chelsea pensioner files on Find My Past
We think he is the one who served in Melbourne Australia and came home on leaving the army
He was married to Eliza who in most censuses said she was born in Farnboro Hants - but on at least one said she was born in Newark where the family lived post 1865 ish (we have no marriage clues)
We know their first daughter Alice Julia was born in Hampshire 1862 and that their second daughter was born in Ireland - however records throw up two Patrick Cullen and wife Elizas to choose
One  married Elizabeth Develin in Jan 1864 in Arklow Wicklow Ireland and had a daughter Elizabeth on 25 Sept 1865 at Coolgreany Wexford Ireland (Alice Julia was already born three years before this date)
One Patrick Cullen and Elizabeth Roach had an Elizabeth on 3 August 1865 at Delgany Wicklow Ireland
I think she is more likely and indeed two Elizabeth Roaches can be found or around the right age, born in Southampton rather than Farnboro and while one can be ruled out in later censuse the other is a possible wife
Any guidance is appreciated

Hi there
Patrick was my gt gt grandfather born in Armagh c 1827 possibly later
Various records show him a Chelsea pensioner at Newark Militia in 1871 census
He married Eliza Siggery born in Farnborough Hants in Corfu when the 46th Foot were stationed there after being through the siege of Sevastopol and before going on to India
He was a colour sergeant.
Their daughter Alice Julia was born in Farnborough Hampshire 1862 and Elizabeth their second daughter was born in Buttevant Ireland in 64 both were military births.
