I was born on my grandad's birthday.
My cousin was born on my sister's birthday.
My other grandad (born Xmas day) died on his wife's birthday and she also died on her birthday - which had been Coronation day.

Princess Diana died on #1 son's 18th birthday.
Zara Phillips was born on the same day as #2 son.
King George VI died on my mother's birthday.

I'm sure there were others too.

Phew!!

I'm not young enough to know everything.

My uncle and I share a birthday, he is also my godfather 13th March, his ex wife (my godmother) and my ex husband share a birthday 9th July, we both got divorced in the same year  ;D

My eldest son was born 21st Jan as was my ggg grandfather, I could have named Sam after him if I had known, Golden Harvey sounds good eh!!

Sadly August is a bad month for my mother's family, both her parent,s and three out of four grandparents died in August and December is the worst ever, I lost my dad at Christmas time, and his mother, brother and one great aunt all died in the same week several years apart.

I have numerous coincidental birthday/marriage/death dates - which I would have to look up.  But interesting this year is a granddaughter turning 12 today on the 12th, another one turning 21 on the 21st September.  12 and 21 can be reversed.  One was born 98 and the other 89 - also reversible

I can't do the maths, but I seem to remember that statistically you are more likely than not to find two people sharing a birthday in any group of 26 or more.

My daughter, mother-in-law and wife's cousin share a birthday.

So do my wife and my aunt (and Hitler)
Cannell, Cutting, Lawrence in Norfolk
Gatford anywhere
French in Devon
Kirton in Durham
Donaldson, Hunter, Mckenzie in Clackmannanshire/Stirling
Watson in Renfrewshire

You need 23 people to have a better than 50% chance of coincident birthdays.

If you really want the maths:

It's easiest to calculate by looking at probability of no matches.

First person's birthday is arbitrary

For second person not to match, must be born on any of the other 364 days, so probability 364/365 (ignoring leap years!)

For third person not to match either first or second, must be born on any of remaining 363 days. Probability of this 363/365, so probability of no match so far is now (364/365) * (363/365)

Keep adding people and multiplying - result goes below 0.5 at 23 people. That is probability of no match is less than 50%, so probability of at least one match is now more than 50%
